George is the brains behind Midsummer Marketing, having been its founder in 1988. But more importantly, George is the heart of Midsummer Marketing. He is as passionate about growing clients’ businesses as he was when he started, perhaps more so now as he is only too keenly aware of the challenges faced by growers and exporters in today’s ever-changing markets and economies.
With experience in 35 international markets, his strength lies in new business development, B2B customer interface, trade communication and retail platform activities, as well as overseeing and managing communication teams in primary markets.
And whilst markets change, George believes that Midsummer’s vision remains the same and that is to bring together growers, shippers, importers and final mile distributors in a seamless chain to the benefit of all.
George has a black belt in Shotokan Karate and was formerly an instructor. Nowadays, he's more keen on exploring the outdoors and so is into cycling, golf and walking.
Josefina joined in 2002 when, together with George, they incorporated Midsummer as a limited company. She brings to Midsummer her marketing expertise and agency experience having been president of a company in the Philippines that represented the Washington Apple Commission and the California Table Grape Commission.
In addition to providing support to George in servicing Midsummer’s clientele, she is also in-charge of finance, purchasing and admin.
She is a gym habitué and regularly plays badminton when not managing her dog’s Instagram account.
Marizel is the team's communications and event management expert. She brings to Midsummer her vast international experience gained from working at marketing and events for The Economist and more recently, as a PR Manager of Gruppo Campari.
She loves to travel and discover new places, and, not surprisingly, speaks 4 languages.
Her personal mission was to save the world but later on decided it was too big a task and so has settled for making the world a better place for brands and products.
